PATROL AND ITS SYSTEM

        KNOWLEDGE OF THE PATROL AND 

                           IT'S SYSTEM

Definition of a patrol: It is a method of training in leadership and discipline by which guides are put into permanent teams under their own leader. It is a system of learning by doing and it can show concrete principles working in practice.Each patrol shall bear the name of a flower chosen in consultation with the petrol in-Council and every member of the Patrol shall wear an Emblem of the petrol on the uniform.                                                   

Patrol Leader:There shall be a Patrol leader for each Patrol. Patrol leader is a guide appointed by the guide captain in consultation with the court of honour and the concerned patrol to lead a patrol of guides. She shall wear the Guide uniform and in addition Green armlet each 1.5 centimetre. wide stitched over the cuff of the left sleeve one centimetre apart.

Patrol Second:There shall be a second for each patrol. A second is a guide selected by the Patrol leader with approval of the guide Captain and the court of honour. She shall assist the Patrol leader and take a place in her absence .She shall wear the Guide uniform and in addition 1 green armlet 1.5 centimetres wide stitch on the cuff of the left sleeve about the lower edge.

Patrol System:The Patrol system is not one method, but that is the only method in which guiding and scouting should be carried out . The Patrol system may be adopted and utilised in a greater or lesser degree but the essential thing is that there should be small permanent groups, within the company, its under the responsible charge of Guide Captain and such groups should be organised under guide captain.

Court of honour:There shall be a court of honour for every company, the court of honour shall consist of company leader, the second may be admitted as members of the court of honour except when matters of discipline are dealt with the company leader elected shall function the chairman and one of the members elected shall be secretary.  The court of honour shall plan activities and deal with internal matters and also matters of finance and discipline. The guide captain and assistant get captain shall be advisors.

Patrol in Council:There shall be a patrol in Council for every patrol. The Patrol in Council consist of the members of the petrol, the Patrol leaders shall be chairman ,the petrol in Council shell deal with all affairs of patrol.

Patrol corner:Generally Patrol corner means 2 things. 1st is the time given to patrol activities during the company meetings. The Other one means the physical place that is allotted to the patrol in the meeting place. It could be temporary or permanent. The Patrol corner must reflect the spirit of the Patrol .
Guides must have a patrol progress chart to show the progress of each member and notice board which displays local, national, and international news that is important. Essential books and equipment of games and activities do form part of the patrol corner.
                                            

Patrol flag:Each patrol has a flag that displays the Emblem of the patrol. The Patrol flag is triangular in shape, white in colour with emblem in red colour. The length of the base is 20 centimetres and side is 30 centimetres. The best type of flag is one which is designed and made by the patrol itself.

Patrol song:Make up short catchy song with your patrol. It will not only adjust activities, but bring all closer and increase the patrol spirit.

Company leader:One of the patrol leader not less than 15 years of age and not more than 6 months of service as a patrol leader preferably with dwitiya sopan badge, may be appointed as company leader by the guide captain in consultation of court of honour. Guide should wear the uniform and in addition 3 Green armlets each  1.5 centimetres over the cuff of the left sleeve each 1 centimetre apart. the company leader shall assist the guide Captain and the assistant guide captain as directed. She shall wear the company leaders badge with its base 4 centimetres above the left pocket of dupatta.
